Our Tree Planting Process

Facilitating our members and fellow Rotarians in an effort to plant a billion trees is an ambitious dream, requiring meticulous planning and careful execution. We understand that simply planting a tree is not enough. Each tree must be the right species for the specific ecosystem, ensuring its survival and long-term contribution to the environment. Furthermore, consideration must be given to the needs of the local community, ensuring that the trees provide tangible benefits such as shade, erosion control, or improved air quality.

To ensure the success of our efforts, the Fellowship attempts to record every tree planted by our partners our members and suggests the implementation of monitoring programs to track their growth and survival. This data-driven approach allows us to assess the impact of our work, identify areas for improvement, and ensure that the generous contributions of our members are making a real difference for the planet.

Every Tree Matters

If you are a Rotarian or a member of the fellowship, and you have planted one or more trees please let us know.

Our Tree Planting Programs

  • Rotary Friendship Trees

Rotarians have been planting trees together to sponsor peace through friendships since the 1920s. We conduct and encourage Rotarians and our members to plant trees with visiting friends and to celebrate occassions. While we do not fund Friendship trees, we can help promote it and theoccasion through social media.

  • Local Planting Projects

Communities reap the benefits of locally planted trees. Our Fellowship partners with members all over the world to plant trees to benefit their neighbors. From urban planting to reforestation programs for a rural park, our people plant endemic species and fruit producing trees for communities to enjoy for generations.

  • Mass Planting Projects

Large-scale planting project (100+ Trees) are essential to the areas where they are planted and to the Earth as a whole. The core mission of the Rotary Fellowship of the trees is to identify opportunities to plant as many trees as possible with the money our members trut us with. We fund MPPs parially or fully depending on the cost of the trees.

We wholeheartedly appreciate your interest in helping us make the world a greener and more interconnected place.
